What is a Wedding Officiant?
An officiant is an ordained minister who specializes in providing meaningful and loving wedding ceremonies for people who
usually do not belong to a church, want a ceremony at a specific location, or who simply want more than a courthouse ceremony.
Is pre nuptial counseling required?
No, in
going over the ceremony at our initial consultation any questions or concerns can be addressed at that time, if needed.
Why would I use a Wedding Officient?
There are numerous reasons such as:
A. You do not belong to a church
B. One or both of the parties is Catholic and is now
divorced
C. It is an inter faith marriage and this is an alternative
D. There
are special circumstances that prevent some ministers from marrying you such as pregnancy or living
together.
You want someone who is non judgemental and is about love and happiness,
not condemnation.
E. You want to be married in a hotel, restaurant, backyard, beach,or some location of your choosing. You might have something
special in mind that is not within the typical cookie cutter wedding.
Do I need a rehersal?
That is up to you. If you are having a wedding planner or coordinator, there is no sense in paying both of us. I know
my part. If you are having more than just a maid/matron of honor and a best man, I would say, "Yes."
I will take
care of arranging the seating of special people, the processional, special ceremonies, and finally the recessional.
I make sure at rehersals that the wedding party is reassured that they are not going to make a "mistake." No guest knows what they are to do or
where there are to stand. All will be fine. This should be an enjoyable experience not a sressful one and my goal is
to reassure the wedding party, parents of the bride and groom and any other key players that all will be fine.
I will also touch bases with
all of your wedding vendors such as the musician , DJ, or singer and photographer to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
My goal is that the bride and groom just have the responsibilty
of just showing up, looking wonderful , and having a meaningful ceremony that will start them sailing into
a sea of marital bliss.
What are the rules regarding photography?
There are none. It is totally your call. If you want your professional photographer/and/or guests to take pictures during the wedding ceremony that is fine with me. There are many shots that can't be duplicated while posing after the ceremony. These are your future memories so you are entitled to the best shots possible.
What about
if there are children from a previous marriage?
I have some very meaningful ceremonies that can include the children as this will be the marriage of a new family. We will discuss this in detail so the right choices
can be made. taking into account the ages and the feelings of children.
Do you perform inter faith weddings?
Yes, I will work with you to help you select the best of the traditions and
values from each of your religions, that each of you hold dear. Enlisting close friends or family members to explain
the significance of various traditions can go a long way to gaining acceptance among parents or Grandparents who may have
some objections to an interfaith wedding.
I put much effort into scripting a wedding that will satisfy all of
your needs.
Do you do vow renewals?
Yes, there is nothing more meaningful than reaching a milestone
anniversary and renewing the vows that the two of you made to each
other. I have wittten some very beautiful ceremonies celebrating
the
continued love that
a couple share.
